YEAH! this app rocks! you can save your .sav files from any ds cartridge to a gbamp CF or supercard!
http://www.pat.hi-ho.ne.jp/~sata68/nds/ndseeprom04.lzh
Try it out!

#53690 - amiga - Sat Sep 10, 2005 6:28 pm

I tried with my supercard sd and It says that I haven't got cf card. I don't know if the problem is the sd card or that I added ndsmall.bin to convert the .nds to ds.gba.
I've got the same problem with moonshell cf version.

That's because the SD card and the CF card have different hardware interfaces, and apps are generally programmed with a driver for one or the other, not both.

It's what I thought.

Then maybe it would be interesting to make sd versions and then everything will work on supercard sd, m3 and mk.

#53718 - tuLL - Sun Sep 11, 2005 2:49 am

Not yet I think. I've tried it, its cool:)

But I think SaTa is thinking about that.

#53768 - Filb - Sun Sep 11, 2005 7:00 pm

Backup works perfectly!
I can't wait for restore!

#53769 - falcon!!! - Sun Sep 11, 2005 7:06 pm

u tried my saves and u cant rrestore them?

Its not supported yet, is it?

#53852 - Lynx - Mon Sep 12, 2005 7:21 pm

Hmm.. Well, if there isn't a restore utility available, how do you know the backups are good? It could be writing a file full of 1's for all we know. I'll grab it when a restore is available.. I can't wait to get ahold of someones SM64DS backup with all the mini games.

You can HEX edit the save with this program. And it looks cool:)

The Metroid Save had my changed name there for example.

#53968 - mrnull - Wed Sep 14, 2005 4:11 am

New version 5! Supports restore! Woohoo!

EDIT: Crap, no it doesn't. Er, just 64Kb ones. Bad news for you guys looking to pass around your Nintendogs.

#54001 - cory1492 - Wed Sep 14, 2005 1:11 pm

So does anyone know if it works with the SC CF version? I didnt think there was a way yet to directly access the CF from any app on it...

Can someone change it so that it saves to sram, so it can be used on any flash card (I have ezflash 2)?

Would love to have more saves of asphalt urban and more...

Rev 6 is out

http://www.pat.hi-ho.ne.jp/~sata68/nds/ndseeprom06.lzh

Seems like there is some kind of "Band-Brothers Tool" now :-)

#54004 - Filb - Wed Sep 14, 2005 1:41 pm

Rev 6 doesn't work at all for me o.o
Edit: It did work now and I put the Mario 64 USA savegame on my Japanese game, it works!

File A: 150 Stars
File B: 13 Stars
File C: 72 Stars

Right? ^^

#54023 - falcon!!! - Wed Sep 14, 2005 7:49 pm

YES! I'm very happy it works!!

#54080 - Niijaooh - Thu Sep 15, 2005 2:22 pm

Rev 7 is out

http://www.pat.hi-ho.ne.jp/~sata68/nds/ndseeprom07.lzh

Looks like he did some work on the other save types, but I don't think they work yet. But I don't understand japanese :-) No sram support yet and I don't have a GBAMP...

#54178 - The 9th Sage - Fri Sep 16, 2005 4:23 am

Hm, don't think it dumps save type 3 properly yet...that's what Nintendogs uses. I'm not going to try restoring it and risk losing my game, but it doesn't look right...strangely, from within the eeprom program if I look at the test dump I get something that looks proper (or at least makes sense...like I can see the names of my tricks for my dog, etc), but the dump of it is just gibberish but strangely has the word GOD repeated many times in it. :P

Someone should make an NDS Save Game Archive site or something. *_*

#54245 - inthearmsofsleep - Sat Sep 17, 2005 2:10 am

can we hope for a flashcart version?

#54250 - mrnull - Sat Sep 17, 2005 3:32 am

I don't think we'll ever see a flashcard version. I don't know if it's technically impossible, but I've never seen any homebrew program that wrote directly to the flashcard before. Maybe it's a power (talk'n mA here) thing?

PS: 7 beta is out now.

#54251 - cory1492 - Sat Sep 17, 2005 4:00 am

someone did a flash cart version using 512kb gba SRAM space and slots wrather than files... and the version of SATA's tool is up to 7b now. (looks like a small change to the 4k write and some clean up over 7a)

the SRAM using version (kinda buggy but it reads/writes OK on EZ and I put a version for NeoPower kit aka xg2/neoflash users that has a small hex edit for NPK to recognize save size, and it is working on my xg2 turbo 512)

#54265 - amiga - Sat Sep 17, 2005 10:03 am

Cory1492, I cannot get any of the files from the neoflash web, do you know where I can get them from another web?
Ed: got it from your site, thank you

Why is the save I dumped different than what it gives me when the dumper looks at it in hex then? O_o Am I missing something or is this some kind of a weird Nintendogs thing?

How can I get the files off my cf card? It backs up my saves perfectly, but when I connect my cf to my computer, I can't find them :S

Scandisk the CF card and the save should magically appear. It's caused by a slight problem when trying to expand the size of a root directory.

#54529 - lambi1982 - Tue Sep 20, 2005 5:31 am

two days after my gbamp broke, every thing needs it

They are cheap enough, and you may be able to repair your old one with a new one (meaning, reflash the firmware, if it isn't a hardware issue)

Well It suddenly worked :D (without scandisk) But then I got very strange files on my cf card too, but I formatted my card and everything works fine :D

Does SaTa read here?

If he does, can you add a feature that allows us to add saved songs to the game?

#54974 - vb_master - Fri Sep 23, 2005 11:43 pm

What is a .lzh file, anyways? How do I use this with a PassMe and a GBA MP?

Put the file on your GBAMP, then... run it? .lzh can be opened with WinRAR, it's another archive.

#55920 - biubid_boy - Tue Oct 04, 2005 12:33 pm

Does this work through a passme, or do you have to have your DS flashed?
