Fixed by shorting F2.

Just remove the battery for about 10 seconds and put it back.
Or if your ds won't work after doing this, send back to Nintendo, they will replace it.

should be at least a year's warranty on it, which means that there's at least 2 months to go. don't give up so easily

They don't have to know what happened.

The top screen is broken as well. They will charge me $75 and say "you dropped it!".

At least it's better than paying $130 and running the risk of getting the new firmware.

At least I got mine for litery free in the first place. I'll probably get much more for scrapping it.
Anyone know about any fuses that I can jump to revive it?

Actually, there is a fuse.. but it's an SMD.. so it might be a little tricky.. Hunt down DarkFader, he's replaced it at least once..

Better Idea: Donate it to someone here who you think deserves it and can probably fix it.

I believe it's F2 in this picture: http://home.utah.edu/~u0422123/iQue/ique2.jpg (top right)
But you better ask DF to make sure :)

I don't care, I'm going to just unsolder the fuse and bridge it!

Guys, good news. I bridged F2 with a little piece of wire, and it boots! The GhettoDS is reborn!

Nice! Just make sure not to short it again. There should be some protection circuit in the battery itself, but now you only have one level of protection. You know how spectacularly Li-Ion batteries explode, right?

No... Maybe I should put a different fuse on?

Let me tell you something about Nintendos service, they are the reason I am a fanboy today. I had a gamecube that I took everywhere, it went through hell back and forth to work, friends houses.. dropped, kicked.. beaten around.. it was about 1 month after the warrenty had expired that it finally crapped out, it began to give me read errors, so I handed it to my friend told him if he can get it repaired it's his..and went out and got myself a new one.. I was impressed when my friend then called Nintendo, following day Fedex man shows up on his doorstep with a box telling him to put the gamecube inside.. two days later he receives a perfectly functional gamecube(for free, outside of warrenty)..
I just can not express to you how impressed I was(especially have the support nightmares I had experienced myself with Sony and Microsoft). Trust me when I say if you have a problem, Nintendo will fix it.. even if you have to lie on the phone about what happened to it, once they pay for the shipping they will get it back to you functional.
