Just something i found on internet:
"Bink Video - our popular true-color video codec - now for Nintendo DS!
Bink Video is our ubiquitous game video codec - it has been used in 2,500 games! It is this popular because it looks great, it uses absolutely minimal CPU and memory, it runs on all of the platforms out there, it supports high-end features like 5.1 audio and pixel shaders, and has a terrific run-time API. Finally... a true-color codec good enough for game developers."
http://www.radgametools.com/default.htm#Bink
Someone could make a player so we all could play BINK video on our DS!
It includes a SDK for NDS i think... Dunno so much about programming.

Bink make a player.
It'll cost you $7500 per product ...
I don't think it's possible to get a free DS bink player or even to write one without being sued.

Woah, it's a bit expensive...but writing it without being sued is so impossible :D

why is it that people keep making threads that look like announcments such are actually crappy "what if" or "someone should make" threads?
#56852 - detroit - Tue Oct 11, 2005 11:29 pm
is bink any good anyway?
i mean who cares when
xvid already exists.... or
does xvid need more power
to run? bink just seems
like a solution that people
in suits like because it comes
with tech support and it costs
a lot of money.

xvid is GPL so it can't be used for commercial projects.
Bink costs a lot of money *because* it comes with tech support, not to mention the support of most major console platforms. People in suits like it because it reduces the development time, programmers like it because it's actually quite good - porting Bink video applications usually involves little more than a recompile.

I edited the title to tone down the irrational exuberance.

Cause now, i want to play anime on my DS, but no one has maked a codec for the DS (or havent rls it yet). This was just a inspiration or something (not so good at english sry). Well... If no DS video codec comes out, im feeling a shame buying DS instead of PSP... (if u ask WHY i buyed DS, its because i like the games to DS)

be happy!
Get Moonshell and you have the best video-output(highest res @ 12fps and fullscreen) for DS.The improved encoder works really fast too.
Filesize might be a bit big but the quality is really impressive.
or like falcon!! used to say: it r0ckz

Heard that the DMV (that moonshell uses) gives u a BIG BIG file 1min = 30mb. For my animes 30 min = 900 mb!! OMFG!!! Well tnx! Gonna try it!!!
(i hope Moonshell will rewrite a DMV codec that doesnt gives u so big files :( 900 mb is MUCH!!! I think THEORA (a free codec from Xiph, the makers of OGG VORBIS, THEORA IS NOT A $7500 licensed codec, its opensourced.) can give him some inspiration :))

O encoded some music-vids(about 3-4min each) with DMV and it gave me a 30-35MB file maximum.
Try it; it looks REALLY great

Prove that it can run at a solid 12fps on a 66 MHz CPU, and you've got a deal.
