That riddle wasn't so hard, but I'm not telling the link:P
Curses on those who don't know it:)
That project's really cool, but wasn't there a discussion here that it's not possible to tunnel the ds's wifi?
Anyway, I still want GBA wifi multiplayer:x
Cheers,

I was thinking that same thing. With all the tunnelling fiasco last winter, I gave up hope on it. But, then I realized, this is Sgstair who's trying to do it. He is the guy who figured out the WiFi stuff. If anyone can get DS tunnelling to work, I think it would be him.
#59591 - Lynx - Wed Nov 02, 2005 8:40 pm
Yup, at least everyone already knows he's legit.. But, who knows.. I'm sure he's got a pretty good understanding of the hardware now, and if latency isn't and issue.. he'd be the one to know.
#59600 - MaHe - Wed Nov 02, 2005 9:05 pm
Wow, that's a thing I'd love to see (and test :p).
Do you need anyone from Central Europe? :P
SgStair and don't forget to add Kick/Ban and other functions for PC server, OK? :D

Yep, think so.
#59626 - tssf - Wed Nov 02, 2005 10:49 pm
If he can manage two projects at once, let him do it. I'm sure he's bored of the wifi project right now. That, or he's so close that he's going to move to something else for now then come back to it.
Whatever the reason, let him do what he wants.

No...I think its fully possible..just not practical or easy.
Also even the best connections it could be quite slow on.
But then...

I understand your thinking, but working on 1 project gets pretty boring. So having another thing to put your mind on is a blessing for both projects :D

true, but then you see 30% alot longer.
Hey I guess im just playing devils advocate
Im am happy for the work he is doing for all of us, I respect that....
it just stinks to have to wait for something as cool as internet on the DS, so after he is done, we have to wait for an app to be made.
or online something..........

For those of you who don't have a clue as to what it is, the goal of the dstunnel project is to enable multiplayer DS gaming over the internet.
It is designed to work with any wireless multiplayer DS game that exists, and should work with all future games too.
We just want to bring the fun of DS multiplayer games to everyone :)<br>
The project currently does require specific hardware in order to work, but it's possible in the near future it could be expanded to work with more common wireless devices.

The ones I have now (I'm up to 13) are very much hand-picked by me, they're people I know pretty well.<br>
I know you all are anxious to get your hands on this, but I don't expect it to be in beta for very long, and I will expect my beta testers to do some actual work.
Anyway, just be patient. I'll of course be updating this page with my progress fairly regularly when this project starts warming up (should be monday/tuesday of next week)<br>
Additionally, when I start really working on this project, it'll be posted to the main page, and, well, just be in general more widespread.

When you hover over or focus an element, an HTML renderer is supposed to display the title, not the alt. The alt is there to replace images that are not loaded. Now if sgstair would use code like the following, everything would be fine in both IEEE!, Firefox, Opera, and everything else that's reasonably modern:
Code: |
<img src="..." title="ds" alt="ds"><img src="..." title="tunnel" alt="tunnel"> |

tepples, yes you'd be correct... but the alt tags were put in in the first place because the .ico wasn't rendering in my version of firefox for whatever reason... you're supposed to be able to get it without them :P

Oddly enough, the DS icon shows fine in my Mozilla Deer Park Alpha 2 (which is just a beta of firefox)
I was thinking it didn't show mainly because of the fact that it's an .ICO file rather than a standard picture file.

Becouse in WC3 Rules for HTML ALT is not for show like tooltips.. Tittle has to do this..
Alt is a Substitute if the image cant be loaded..
so... Internet Explorer is wrong not Firefox!

Dudu, please note the following:
in the W3C specification for HTML 4.01, it says:
"This specification does not define how conforming user agents handle general error conditions, including how user agents behave when they encounter elements, attributes, attribute values, or entities not specified in this document."
in an IMG tag, the alt attribute is considered required, for accessability reasons (I don't always implement it on my site tho)
However, the title tag is not considered to be required, and what is done with it is left up to the implementor.
Technically, neither is wrong, because HTML 4.01 does not specify what must be done when an element (in this case title) does not exist.
Using the alt as a tooltip is a perfectly acceptable response to not having a title attribute.
So, please don't state definitive information on things you don't know anything about.

I think the Topic of this Thread is DS Tunneling... but all what I must read in the last Postings here is about HTML... Please comes back on Topic.
I hope DS Tunneling works in the End correctly, many DS Games has an NiFi Multiplayer Mode and I don't know other DS Users here in my Town, so that can bring me much more fun.
