DS Misc > MP3 Alarm Clock

#66274 - blackd0t - Mon Jan 09, 2006 12:24 pm

Hi!

I wanted to ask if anyone has ever released something that works like an alarm clock, but instead of playing the alarm sound it would play the mp3 file louder and louder just like the alarm clock from DS firmware does.

That would be a great option for making you get up and start the new day with your favourite song.

Any song that wakes me up will no longer be my favourite song.

Haha, Sektor, you're right, but I have some tunes which I also don't like, but they would effectively wake me up :)

And if it could use that rumble function... that'd be swell...

Actually, it wouldn't be that hard to do. I might try making it.

An alarm clock like this would be a nice function to have in MoonShell...

I'm more of a program skinner than a programmer, so if anyone wants to help out, feel free to PM me.

I'll probably end up making this look like the DS' system clock.

Hahah, I wouldn't set a Crazy Frog alarm as then I could've accidentally damaged my console :).

Haha, I would prefer this to the regular DS alarm...I find that it's not as effective for me anymore, but Crazy Frog...that's always annoying.

I used to use the Lavos battle theme in an SPC player on my PC to wake up.
Piped into a Fisher stereo receiver with Bose commercial speakers...
Set the dial to, I dunno, 6 or so (versus the normal setting of 2 out of 10, which is enough to be audible through the wall)

Yeah, I woke up.

I wonder if that Crazy Frog voice have been stolen from the Formula video clip. It did exist way before Crazy Frog. It has 100% the same voice. *In that video there is Formula car and there plays that frog voice backround and that clip is several years old*

The saddest thing is that the whole Crazy Frog thing is all based on stealing other people's work. Axel F theme, which is a great song, was brutally murdered by this sick child of modern pop culture. I just love to see people saying they like Crazy Frog, because the music is fine. I'd like to hit them all with a big hammer...

The guy who made that sound sold the rights to the "Crazy Frog" sound clip. They merely used it in various annoying ways that make you want to kill the crazy frog and the guy who made the sound.

slightly (ok, very geekish) of me, but i wouldn't mind waking up to the "Hyrule Field" theme from Ocarina of Time, right from when the sun comes up in the game...might trigger some weird dreams if i sleep through the alarm though

btw, you were absolutely right about that link blackd0t...made me very happy indeed

Make a simple Windows scheduled task, and make it execute this: http://tssf.i-web.net/Remakes/Zelda64Stuff/oot_hyrulefield2.mid

Unfortunaly his("Lien") official site is down now.

It was recorded something like 8 years ago or so on a LAN party, the guy was actually trying to simulate a 2 stroke moped or Saab V4. He recorded it on his PC and changed the pitch on it a bit. Somehow it escaped onto the big internet, and the rest is as you know history.
