This is NOT my application, I just saw a link from 4ColorRebellion.
I have not yet seen a link or discussion here. Seems to control the mouse very well. Left shoulder is left click. Needs a left hander option! (for me).
Works like a tablet rather than a touchpad. ie, where you touch on the ds screen the mouse jumps to there.

amazing! it works like a charm, other than the hellish IP configuration methods.

It's much easier to get running than DS2Key, too!
I can't help but wonder what he was thinking when he set up the configuration, though. My wrist hurts from tapping up on the D-pad to set my IPs.
I wish I could get on my other monitor with it, too.
Neat!

it's perfect unless every one of your ip numbers are close to 12.208.179.130
but i'm using this instead of my drawing tablet for flash now. i love it.

I guess it's because my computer sucks, but I get a ton of lag drawing with it in Flash. The mouse moves fine until I start to draw a line, and then it goes reeeeally slow. Still, I managed to draw some nice sketches that would be a bit hard to do with a mouse.
A mode where it clicks automatically after you touch would be nice, so I wouldn't have to touch, hold L, draw a line, and repeat.

I've noticed lag, although only occasionally. I made some crappy sketches in PhotoShop with it so far. lol I'm having a bit of a time getting used to doing it on my DS rather than with a good ol' pencil and paper, but this is very cool nonetheless.

works pretty good when you put paper over the ds screen an draw with pencil, but you have to keep the resolution low in photoshop or it will be messy.
Awesome app to mess with friends, when they are on your comp they will think you are playing DS when in fact you wait for them to do things and you make the pointer jump around :)

Does anyone know why I'm suddenly getting a "bind() error: 10048"?

Yes, because the program is alreay open. It's probably minimized.
Anyway, do thing there will be a left handed option? I can press the L button and use the pen at the same time.

Both programs work for me :)
Win2DS works fine, except the mouse resets to the center occasionaly.
The Pointer app seems to load fine, and it (glitchly) displays the windows desktop. But the Zoom function only works once, thne it crashs.
And nothing but the keyboard seems to effect the pc.

Win2DS seems to be updated: http://digitalatrocity.com/DS/Win2DS.zip
It now has password protection, a keyboard input for settings, and an autoupdating image of your desktop on the bottom screen so you can see what you're moving your mouse over, and a keyboard as well.

Hmm, I have tried seemingly every combination and cannot get this to get past the waiting stage. Can anyone give me a chart for which IP I see in my LAN details to where I type in the actual application? I think I have tried almost everything.
Thanks.

WEP is not supported, so you will have to disable it on your router.
To get the IP settings run cmd.exe and type ipconfig
C:\>ipconfig
Windows IP Configuration
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.5
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1
For this example, in ds2win:
DS IP:
192.168.000.006 (the third digit can usually be anything not in use)
Gateway Address:
192.168.000.001 (same as Default Gateway)
DNS Address:
not important since we won't be resolving any host to IP
Subnet Mask:
255.255.255.000 (just leave it as is)
Server IP:
192.168.000.005 (this is the IP of the PC running win2ds.exe)
Firewalls can cause problems and so can routers that don't transmit at 2mbit.

Is the WEP not being supported a temporary thing?
#68405 - Sektor - Tue Jan 24, 2006 10:27 am
Yes, WEP will work eventually, currently it's not supported by the wifi lib, so none of the homebrew apps can use it.

should be 192.168.0.005 sektor
is it possible to have the keyboard and a small "trackpad" on the bottom screen and the top screen show the desktop, then you zoom in on the cursor (gradually upto 1:1) and have it just track where the cursor is? kinda seems more natural, and you don't have to be sitting in front of the monitor to see where/what your clicking/typing either. just a suggestion is all

can anyone help me
first of all i have a SD supercard (does it work with that?)
secondly all other connections from the DS from other games work perfectly
is it the supercard?
im pretty sure i got the settings correct
#84885 - daninski - Thu May 25, 2006 10:02 am
i just tried this because i have pretty much the same set up as you. it worked fine BUT the screen refresh is soooo slooooow it's nto really useful.
anyway, i found on the waiting screen it just stayed there, so i cancelled and it took me to the password screen again, i pressed enter and it connected straight away. i had to get the pc's ip by running cmd and in that ipconfig. on my router it was 192.168.1.103, so best you check what yours is.
#84941 - spacepirate - Thu May 25, 2006 11:23 pm
Try using the manual configuration and entering in your connection information through that. It won't work for me unless I connect in that manner. Try going into the start menu, clicking run, typing in "cmd" (no quotes), and then typing in "ipconfig" (no quotes) to get the information you need. Also, if your router has an option to assign a static ip to a mac address, try giving your DS a static ip. It generally makes wifi homebrew work better.
By the way, you can increase the refresh speed by pressing start and changing the speed from there. You may have already known this.

thanks for the input but i tried that already
btw i had to patch the win2DS to make it work on my supercard if that makes a difference, cause the original file doesn't work at all (white screen)
the DS IP is the computer's IP right or is it the router IP?
well i tried the computer's IP and the router's IP both fail
when i try to connect it tries for a while and then says CANNOT CONNECT

What kind of lag are people getting with this?
I tried it out a few months back and I got more lag than was useable, apart from that it worked great though.

i get tonnes, the pointer moves in spurts, in an on/off/on/off manner.
