I apoligize in advance if this is a silly question, however I'd rather be safe then sorry, My wife bought me Mario Kart the other night for the DS, but i own an original launch day system with original firmware (i've been using my trusty passme by natrium42) to launch my own small projects & demos, anyhow my question is this:
does/will mario kart update your firmware?
i really want to play it, but i'd rather not play it if it is going to make my firmware update and my passme not to work any longer. thanks...

Nope. You're good.
It does write wifi settings to the firmware, but it doesn't affect the ability to use a PassMe.

Should add that if you know you're using FlashMe V5 before playing MK, TH, AC, or any other Nintendo WFC app, please..do yourself a favour and update to V5 or even 6..
Otherwise, original firmware will work the same. Infact, Nintendo WFC is writing to a part of the firmware that's not supposed to have anything anyway..so that's why.
