DS Misc > CF/SD tools for DS?

#69998 - tssf - Fri Feb 03, 2006 5:58 pm

Anyone in the process of developing a CF/SD File manager? Something that allows the dragging of files, or deletion or what not? Maybe have the function to reformat a card on the DS or better yet, Defrag on the cart itself as well?

And perhaps when DS Wifi is complete, can include a PC to DS synchronization thingy ala PDA's or something. Would do a lot less damage to my card reader's pins, that's for sure.

Just wondering if anyone is working on anything like that :) Thanks for your time.

DSLinux is so far a perfect file manager for me :)

Yeah, DSLinux should be perfect if one day works in sd cards too.

But something more simple like windows commander would be interesting.

Would be good, except I don't know how to use Linux. :P hehe.

Couldn't get any simpler - type ls to list files & folders, type cd <folderaddress> to go to that folder, mv <startfilename&path> <endfilename&path> to move or rename files and cp <startfilename&path> <endfilename&path> to copy them.
Rm <fileorfoldername> will remove the file or folder (* can be used as a wildcard) and that's actually it :)

DSLinux is VERY fun to explore. At least for me :D

Yeah, but you still can't do :(){ :|:& };:

Why the heck would you want these characters in filenames? They're not supported by Windows or any other major OS, therefore, I don't really feel the urge to use them :/

You can use them in Linux, I just touched a file with that name ^_^, though I was referring to the possibility of doing a fork bomb in DSLinux.

So, there's no file manage that can work with files on the SD card? I know there are application that can read and write, would be very nice to have a file manager.
