Hi guys,
Do any of you know if there is a way to reset the EEPROM on a retail DS Cart? Or could you describe the proper way to corrupt an EEPROM chip using a magnet? Thanks for your help!

You won't have much luck with a magnet since EEProm is not a magnetic storage medium ;) (just like you can't reset CDs using magnets o.o" (ok these are optic storage mediums and eeprom is not...))

1. Check out the games manual under the section "game saving". You should find some combination you have to perform in order to delete EEPROM's content.
2. If you're using a homebrew enabled DS, Rain will definitely work. Select "FORMAT" from it's menu. :)

Rain will work... just update it with a .sav file that doesnt correspond to the game.

Just run ScummVM and hold down L+R while booting or something. I know that works, because it completly erased all of my beloved Castlevania DS saves.

Wait...doesn't that only work with saves that would be on a flashcart? >_>

Haha, that was funny.
There is that other EEPROM tool also.. can't remember it's name. Rain didn't work with my flashcart so I used it to backup DS game cards saves.

That's what I was expecting. I wanted to erase the flashcart SRAM. But the flashcart SRAM remained intact, and my DS cart SRAM was erased instead.
I'll wait a few months before I get enough courage to replay Castlevania again.

Huh...that's bizzare. I'm pretty sure that it's supposed to clear GBA SRAM, not the DS card's EEPROM. O_O
