I started downloading podcasts on itunes, but the video podcasts are in MPEG-4 Movie format. How do I convert these to play on moonshell?

DPGEnc, which is available on Moonlight's web site, should do this for you.

Does Windows Media Player recognize it? A lot of these conversion programs rely on VFW or DirectShow codecs.

By "video podcast" do you mean the Comedy Centreal videos and stuff like that?
I think they are DRMed which might be why they don't convert.

If you are running into digital restrictions management problems, the best solution is to choose another content provider.

By 'video podcast' I think he means those free none DRM videos, otherwise known as 'video podcast' :P They're encoded in H.264 in .MP4 containers (usually) which Windows Media Player wont like playing - but maybe there's some codecs around for this.
