i have decided to show you how nintendo makes stuff but doesn't use them :P
http://swimgod.com/wifi/
here you can see:
-Metroid Prime: Hunters
-Tetris
-MarioKart
-Tony Hawk
-Animal Crossing: Wild World
-Lost Magic
-Total
but basicly nintendo records all these stats on their server's
but didn't put it metroids site,
so i decided to put it on this page along with how mario declines when metroid enclines
hmm i wonder if there is a reason for that :P
edit:i fixed up to show you all the games wifi enabled,
and i fixed this post to list the ones i have on my site :P

doesn't work for me...all the graphs are blank (no data) And when I mouse over them, I get a popup saying
Code: |
undefined
[day icon ] NaN
[night icon] NaN |
#76582 - TJ - Wed Mar 22, 2006 11:50 pm
Works fine for me.
Are those total connections to WFC, or actual unique player IDs?

Yap, all them are 0.
Firefox 1.5.0.1
All values are 0 (all the graphics are shown.. but zero).
IE 6.0
Shows only the white game names (nothing else in the page)... why?
I have all the most common plug-ins and surfing stuff installed, so what is missing and/or how should I fix this?

It's an RPG. Apparently there's an online duel mode or something. Oh, and the site doesn't seem to work for me. I see blank charts, and if I hover over them, I get a little box popping up which says "Undefined". Firefox 1.5 on OS X.
#76609 - swimgod - Thu Mar 23, 2006 1:38 am
the way it works is the same way nintendo has it set up,
it uses rss feeds and SWF files translate them into graphs :D
i have had a couple people say it don't work that i showed >.<;
i have firefox 1.5.0.1
so i don't know what could change,
maybe your flash settings are wrong >.<;
i don't know :P
but as for the lost magic game :P
i found the game code
Code: |
online you will find darkfaders site have a site of all kinds of games and game codes,
nintendo uses the first 3 of 4 letters
so
mariokart U
AMC
Metroid prime hunters
AMH
and so on |
kinda weird :P

You forgot Animal Crossing..and Tony Hawk
Animal Crossing is ADM according to Nintendo Wifi homepage sourcecode.
Tony Hawk is AH9 according to Nintendo Wifi homepage sourcecode.

Maybe try it again...I tried it again today (had the same problem as you) and it worked. I see that (of course) there was a giant surge in MPH players today. (by the way...amazingly, even with my slow connection, multiplayer works even better on this than Animal Crossing...no random disconnects. Must have better network code)

you mean less code transfer :D
the server is the same :P
but the games talk to the server can be lessend
making it use less internet trafic :)
nintendo is good at making stable games
this is most curtently one of those :D
-------------------------
lol its so funny how metroid and tetris(sorta)
spike like that :P
what took people so long,
i mean the 20th only had 1,000 on metroid
and yesturday had 10,000
lol
people training first i guess :D
still cool how you can graph these tho :D
i wish to learn the rss to php translators,
so i can make my own graphs ;)
that way we can graph it from all games and know which game is which :P
maybe even create a dynamic moonshell background to load from wifi when you start up
of a pie chart on how many people on which games :D
that would be awsome :D

Here, thought this might be useful:
[Images not permitted - Click here to view it]
That's what happens for me (firefox 1.5 on OSX with newest flash).

Doesn't work for me either. I have Shockwave Flash 8.0 r22
Works for my friend and he has Shockwave Flash 7.0 r61
Could it be a problem with the newer version of flash?
Btw, you can check your flash version number in firefox by typing "about:plugins" in your URL bar.

Might be security of the new flash kicking in:
Quote: |
2 A Why did my movie stop working when I have uploaded it to a web server
When run from a web server Flash has a security implementation which only allows you to send and retreive information to the server that delivered the flash file. If you try to read information from another system (such as moreove.com) you will find that the XML files will work fine on your local machine, but will fail when you move them onto your web server.

Minor point, it's not "RSS feeds". Nintendo is running XML web services.

Metroid Prime Hunters:
AMH
Tetris:
ATR
Mario Kart:
AMC
Tony Hawk:
AH9
Animal Crossing wild world:
ADM
Lost Magic:
AM9
All:
ALL
|
have fun :D
-------------------------------------
now for some comments on what the stats look like :P
metroid prime:
well it seems to have passed mario in the day and night section
but is behind ACWW in the night >.<;
still going up though
Tetris:
it seems tha players has suddenly lost intrest :D
in 2 days after its release the stats went down 10,000 people!
Comeon What happened?
(they bought metroid ;))
mariokart:
slowly thining over time as tetris and metroid came out ;)
tony hawk:
to embarissing to metion :S
Animal Crossing: Wild World:
same as with mariokart
less people over time as metroid and tetris increase(well now just metroid :P)
Lost Magic:
(Beta testers only)
all over the place,
between 140~300 ;)
-------------------------------------------------
ALL:
95,000 more players with tetris and metroid release :O

Here's something I'd really really really like to see.
A way to check each of our Hunter's License, based on Name or whatever Nintendo bases it on.
I know we can check the top 10, and we can check our card if we log on.
We can also click on the friends list, and check our friend's friendlist, and check our friend's friend friendlist, and thereby getting access to any license based on something (the id or name or whatever nintendo uses)
If we could get that unique number (because i doubt they are based on names), we could have a script that would show hunters licenses similar to the way its done on Xbox Live and their gamercards.

ok.
im on that job :P
so far i have the some info on this topic
http://www.nintendowifi.com/javascript/MetroidHunters/tooltip.js
Code: |
function showUserPopup(evt, gspid) {
if (license_shown) { return false; }
//hide('popupFrame');
if (!evt) var evt = window.event;
var mouse = getMousePos(evt);
//alert('gspid:' + gspid + ' mouse:' + mouse.x + ',' + mouse.y);
getZeEl('user_license').src = 'MetroidHuntersLicenseFrame.jsp?gspid='+gspid;
//alert ( 'getZeEl(\'popupFrame\').style.left=' + getZeEl('popupFrame').style.left );
//alert ( 'getZeEl(\'popupFrame\').style.left=' + mouse.x + 'px' )
getZeEl('popupFrame').style.left = mouse.x + 'px';
getZeEl('popupFrame').style.top = mouse.y + 'px';
show('popupFrame');
}
|
if their is a way to find the hunter id,
im guess it has to do with the friend code,
so if we could create a tool to go back and forth through the codes we could find anyones id :P

Nope, doesn't work. I visited my old friend today and it didn't work there either (he got xp home + firefox 1.5 with default settings).
There must be something wrong in your code.
Can you make a test page with simple code so we can locate this problem easier?

it is simple ....
i didn't put anything more then just the stuff nintendo has,
if it works for there site it should for mine ....
im hoping the javascript they have will fix it
----
im editing the document right now :)
well it turns out what i was looking at was for the top menu but there is a peice of VB script in there that may effect the working of this graphs
i added it
check it out on a pc that didn't work before please
WTF,
metroid went up and for an entire day mantained the same numbers as the day before :|
,also
nintendo has had 300,000 people sign on in one day :D
P.S.
if this fails,
since so many people want it (i think :P)
i will make a php script to copy over their XML file of the numbers
to keep everything on one server :)
that Should fix most problems (the NaN one)

Same stuff here, but doesn't work.
I did shut down my firewall when testing, but doesn't make a difference.
I have now tested with three different windows setups (my own and my friends). It just doesn't work.
My PC: Windows XP Pro + Firefox 1.5.0.1 + Flash 8.0.24.0
Friend 1: Windows XP Pro + Firefox 1.5.0.1 + Flash 8.0
Friend 2: Windows XP Home + Firefox 1.5.0.1 + Flash 7
Maybe Nintendo haven't opened those stats because they haven't figured out how to get them working on all computers? ;)

Methinks it checks your IP for some reason, maybe to restrict access based on where you are. I tried it with an anon proxy from the US and got to see it.
#76879 - swimgod - Sat Mar 25, 2006 7:21 pm
but these stats are see able by anyone...
you don't even have to be logged in on nintendowifi.com
to see it,
they have them on their main page ...
Wait...
i think i just realized something :P,
maybe it checks which county your in...
(by hostname and ip it is posible)
and if your in japan for example...
you would have diffrent game stats (no?)
so maybe this doesn't work because your internet provider is out of the game's region...
just a guess :P
try using proxies...
see if that works...

well the nintendo stat server was down for a bit...
but now its back and guess what,
METROID HAS BROKE THE 100,000 people in one day(alone, not with out night :D)
that is crazy man :D
EDIT!!:
i think i solved the problem some people were having :P
long story short,
there is one tag at each flash html part that i 'thought' was just the name it gave it :P
but it turns out,
some builds of flash look at that tag and not the one my pc looks at :)
NOW IT (SHOULD ;) ) WORK FOR EVERYONE! :)

Ok, have a great time.
I have tested via anonymous proxies located in US, but with no luck. It just doesn't load the stats.
Btw, your fake stats were funny.

There are stats in http://www.nintendowifi.com/gaminghub/Gamehub.jsp .
Ok, after I visited that site and your page also started working (it's seems so obvious). So maybe it's just a protection (to prevent mean ppl from stealing stats... like you do). :D
EDIT: typo fixed

Yes, it's true. Too heavy load maybe? What happens when the upcoming 40 new Wi-Fi games are released. *lol*

Wipe your cookies and after that reload your wifi page. Bummer, does not work.
Visit Nintendowifi (page 1 and after that page 2).. it makes a cookie.. and boom! Works again! ;)

Are you sure all the cookies were gone (closed all browser windowses and all)?
Have you tested with Firefox?
I have now tested my method with two totally different computers located far far away from each others.. and my method worked with Firefox.
I also tested IE and it didn't work. So only Firefox browsers.
Can anyone confirm that my method works (with Firefox)?

I confirm: This method works.
I had previously only NaN when i moved the mouse over ist & no graphs. I'm now seeing the blue graphs.
