If I had to think of the worst possible browser to port, and simultaneously the most difficult one to port, IE would definitely be the first thing to come to my mind.
Even though this isn't technically IE, it is close enough.

yeah, I knew theres legal problems, but I thought it would be a good place to start.
oh well :-/
We just need a good HTML interpreter now really.
Is there any open source ones that would be suitable to port or scale down?

Its just for reading HTML.
And yeah, was hopeing for something slightly more advanced then links...
If IE4 can be ported to the GBA, should be possible get something a bit beyond basic text on the DS.
Port of Firefox? :D
Ok, a tad optimistic, but there must be some lightweight open source browsers about..
Even having non-correctly formated HTML, theres still potential to use the two screens and touchscreen to make a nice interface.

First implement an HTML parser, based on the rules in Web Applications 1.0, that generates a DOM tree, and then we can see what we can do with that.

How about links in framebuffer mode? I don't know about its ram usage though.

DSLinux has a functioning text mode browser.

I created a personal portal page that fits on to a 64x32 character terminal without spilling off to the second page.
(I hope to get a DS for my bday, I have been testing this browser on my desktop box using a xterm window at 64x32 (DSLinux terminal dimensions)
