Hi!
I swear a lot, and as a result, my DS's back sticker is gone. I didn't noticed that the serial number is only there (I can't see it on the box nor on firmware) and I couldn't write it down. Now, I'm buying Lite and I'm gonna sell the old one to a shop and they say they need the serial number.
So, Is there any homebrew app or something I can see the serial number with?
Thanx a lot!
If there's no way, What should be the format (numbers? chars?), and see if I can "figure out" one myself ^^
Thanx again

You could sell it to someone else.

Watch out: State law may prohibit selling goods with a removed or defaced serial number.

my serial number has been removed too..
luckily I wrote in on a piece of paper before! :D

Yeah, I wrote mine down too. When I started to take off the sticker I noticed that it was taking off the ink, so i carefully pulled it off leaving some of the ink on, so I thught it was okay. I taped the sticker to a piece of paper and wrote down the serial number. But the rest of the ink has now worn off...

I swear, that sticker is designed to peel off after a year.
Most irritating is that the DS Lite appears to be the first handheld made by Nintendo which features a proper barcode that Doesn't wipe off when it makes contact with the outside world.
...Come to think of it, I think it's the first time they've done proper paint period.

I thought the sticker was some kind of cover like you find on the top of laptops sometimes, until I rubbed the serial number and it started to disappear...

I have a v1 and my sticker is still there, but it's white in most spots from rubbing in my pockets. I take it just about everywhere with me.

Thank gawd for that! That's exactly what happened to me, except I took it off after I took the plastic covers off the screens and the Nintendo badge. It's been leaking grey ever since. I thought I was the only one. (V1, btw)

Yeah, mine wore down to a blank white sticker within a few months. I'd love to have a way to find the number too. Maybe there's a connection to the MAC address?

you could always look at the back of a few nintendo ds boxes in the store to get the idea of serial number format...

Is there any way to get my serial from nintendo.com? My sticker wore off. I don't need it now, but I'm just curious if it's possible.
And why would the shop need a serial number? Perhaps it's going to run it by Nintendo? In that case, making one up probably wouldn't work.

Try using the format listed above, and attempt to register a DS on Nintendo.com. If you can get it registered ok, then it should be a valid serial number!
Warning: Be careful, as you will get in trouble if you get caught.

Call nintendo and ask for a replacement. They need to make more durable serial numbers.
