Hi all,
DSFTP 2.3 is out. Get it at http://giesler.biz/bjoern/en/sw_dsftp.html.
Noteworthy changes:
o UNZP added (submitted by Bertrand Augereau)
o DS->PC file transfer speeded up a lot (patch to DSWifi submitted by masscat)
o Linked with Devkit R18 again (fixes some showstopper bugs)
o More bugfixes
On the topic of bug reports: reports via email are much preferred to reports posted in the forum, because I can track them much better that way. My email address is right there on DSFTP's GUI. Please include as much information as you can: What you see on the screen, the log output, your hardware configuration, DSFTP version used, etc.
As always, donations are welcome. :-) My Paypal address is the same as my email address.
Have fun!
Regards,
Bj?rn

Yup. See the docs. It's GNU unzip, though, so no multi-file zip support (until someone submits UNTAR, that is).

Hmmm, could you add a comand to unzip a file without using the PC at all?
Downloading the latest homebrew from Internet through DSLinux and unzipping it through your app seems a nice idea ...
Anyways, keep up the great work! :)
Wish I could donate - I don't have a credit card right now, and when I mention donating to a complete stranger over the net, everybody thinks I went insane. :(

Great, it works!
Now I can put new games on my M3-lite without removing the SD-micro.

Perhaps I misunderstand the question, but how can you get files into DSFTP without a computer in the first place, let alone initiate the unzip?
Even so, I should think adding a file browser and file management to DSFTP is well outside of the scope of the project.

While I wouldn't necessarily go that far, DSFTP is available as a library. So it's no problem at all to link it to one of the existing file browser/management apps (e.g. DSOrganize).

i jsut tried it and now i can "somewhat" write stuff on it now... like when i try to copy a file in.. it'll actually create the file but it gets stuck still and wunt xfer it completely... but it now can create the file but itll get stuck and remain at 0 byte

I meant more along the lines of being added to the stand-alone server. Obviously somebody could take the DSFTP library and create such a problem if there was sufficient demand.

It patches the file system access routines to use the correct registers for SC lite. The SC team chose not to document these registers (so they can't be supported properly) but rather to release this patcher.

That's strange. Please mail me your ftp.conf and ftp.log, recorded at loglevel 5. Also, can other SC lite users please speak up and say whether DSFTP 2.3 works for them?

Well, DSLinux has a couple of pretty decent browsers (retawq & links) which do support downloading ... ;)

First of, DSFTP is a great tool :) i'm using v2.1 because all later version wont work with my Supercard lite. Uploads from PC to DS get stuck after a few bytes. 2.1 works flawlessly. With v2.1 i have downloads speeds around 50-60k and uploads speed in the same range. I also used Moonshell Patcher on all versions but no avail.

i also use 2.1, coz it's "stable" with my SC SD - upload to DS with 38-39k, later versions non-functional

Hello...
I have set up DSFTP 2.3 successfully, and the server states it's running on port 21, IP 192.168.1.8. My hardware is SC Lite with 1 GB Kingston Micro.
My ftp.conf is:
motd /ftp/motd.txt
logfile /data/logs/ftp.log
loglevel 5
timeout 60
portrangestart 9000
portrangeend 9999
screensaver 30
wakeonlog false
user ****
pass ****
root /
home /
write true
boot true
end user
When I attempt connect to DSFTP from a PC on my LAN, my FTP client will report "Connected to 192.168.1.8", but then time out after about 30 seconds. I have tried several clients, including XP command line, WS FTP, and FlashFXP. The DSFTP logfile remains empty. The only other behavior I've been able to correlate, is when I turn off Windows Firewall on the PC, I no longer get the "Connected to... " message... just a timeout.
Note that I have a working WFC connection in the first position on the DS.
Any help is appreciated.

pariah: sounds like the fat driver for your flashcart is not able to read the filesystem

Not sure what you mean. Wouldn't that create a lot worse problems, like not being able to read the menus and launch other apps & games... which I can do just fine?
#110148 - jrobot - Sun Nov 26, 2006 12:15 am
DSFtp is compiled with a fat filesystem library which contains support for various flashcarts. seeing as you're using a relatively new cart, it is definately possible that the copy of DSFTP you're using doesn't support your cart.

I understand what you're saying, but I guess I'm unclear about the distinction between "cart", "card" and "filesystem". I believe the SC Lite card is supported, according to the documentation.
Does this mean I need to re-format my SD card into a supported filesystem, and it will work? Or do I need to wait until Bjoern adds support for my hardware?

I'll translate using what I believe to be clearer language:
jrobot wrote: |

Here, I use "memory card adapter" to refer to devices such as SuperCard, GBAMP v2 or v3, Magic Key 2 or 3, and DS-Link (effectively a microSD version of Magic Key 2).
The issue is that each make and model of memory card adapter needs its own block device driver so that the file system code knows how to read the 512 byte sectors of your storage medium. What you can to do is wave money in wintermute's face until he and Chishm unify this adapter mess by releasing devkitARM R20, which has a rewritten file system layer.

For Supercard Lite, you should use the strangely named "patch moomshell for super card.exe" to patch dsftp.ds.gba.
You still seem to have a network problem. You don't need to forward any ports since the connection is within your LAN but if you are forwarding port 21 to an IP other than your DS's IP, it could cause problems. If it was a FAT problem, you would be able to connect and login but the list of files would be empty.

I found the moomshell thing, and tried patching both the nds and gba files and saw no difference.
I can't imagine why there would be a port forwarding problem, since everything is on the same subnet. Several other devices on the LAN run FTP servers with no issues. Still stumped.

The main webserver seems to be down right now.
