I have been working on a menu based on chishms dldi loader. The main reason I have done this is because I have a Neo R6 Gold and the menu doesn't look very nice (yet?). I have used chishm's code unaltered, you can get it from his post here.
It currently will load only from the root of the card as there is a but somewhere that shows itself when it re-reads the file list. If you would like to see this bug in action, press Select a couple of times to re-load the file list.

Left/Right to scroll through the icons.
A to load the selected (largest) icon.
If any PALib users would like to try hunting out the bug that has creaped in, please PM me.

Did you dldi patch it? It should work with most cards I think.
I mentioned the bug in the first post, I'm trying to track down the bug, but I'm having trouble finding it though.

How did you get Chishm's loader to work with PAlib? I'd like to add it to DSFile but when I tried, it failed horribly.

DLDI patched for my SCCF, it doesn't show anything but the BG and the date.
All my homebrews are on /apps and /games, but in the root there's *.sc.nds for DSOrganize and DSChannels plus Moonshell.

I don't think chishms loader loads them, so it only lists .nds (.sc.nds are ignored).

Nothing.
Moved 3 ramdom *.NDS apps to the root. It still doesn't list them.
Also, the clock is aways 00:00, only the date is shown.
Maybe it doesn't work with SCCF.

I'm sorry I cant help more, I don't have a supercard so I don't really know anything about them.
I have added the .sc.nds and .ds.gba to the zip. I haven't tested them, I don't know how .sc.nds differs from .nds, is it similar to .ds.gba?

Also if anyone thinks they can track down that bug, pm me, I would like to have folder support, but reloading the file list is causing problems.

I'm feeling a little stupid right now. I put the wrong filename into the loader, I have re-uploaded with the correct file. It should now launch no problem.
I have still not tracked down that bug yet though.

I haven't tried it yet but a look at the menu, and I'm very impressed! You finally were able to get Chishm's loader to work in PAlib? Maybe you should share it with those other people that are still wondering how to do it!

I'd still really like to know ;)
Also, if there's a way to load a second DLDI (with this application or any app using a similar system) to open stuff off of a slot-2 card without passme'ing over to it, that'd be nice (aka boot stuff off GBAMP using this, booted from the GnM.)

Just use chishm's method for slot-1s and then use the GBAMP and SUperCArd and M3 boot methods for slot-2s

so I can get the loader to launch on my DS-X, but whenever I try to launch an app, I get white screens. Any help?
#141505 - spinal_cord - Wed Sep 26, 2007 11:05 am
I thnk chishms original code has a demo in the .zip. Try that, if his code does not load from your card, then this menu wont wither (sorry)

I have a Datel GnM card and this works well, good work!
I understand that you are facing a bug with directories, but what about adding a shortcut system like that used in DSOrganize. This way I could put small shortcut files or even better, one file with a list of shortcuts, to point to other nds files in directories other than the root. Maybe a way to specify icons and descriptions in the shortcut file as well.
Using DSOrganize to launch homebrew on my GnM is fine but I would love to have another alternative.

I have started over with this, I have fixed the directory problem and found the bug causing my sprites crap out. But for a reason I can't figure, my sprites are now flickering.
Shortcuts seem like a good idea. I'll look into it.

Good to hear that you fixed the bug and are still working on this. Keep up the good work. I look forward to your next release.

I'm not sure why, but I cant get the damn thing to load files consistently. Perhaps I'm wasting to much memory with the menu or something.
