...and beta2's out with .IPK viewing support, so I don't have to wait to see if the directory limit will ever be raised in Moonlight's ImgView :D

[EDIT: Blech, never mind...it just launches ImgView]

direct-link:

Bug found: when you change the main language to english with the languageselecter.exe and you start moonshell it gives an error and changes it back to japanese.

Oh, nice :)

I'd given up hope of a new version. Allthough it was pretty perfect already.

You should listen what Moonlight says about MoonShell. You are wasting your time.

MoonShell will change a lot and there will be need for full translation and all your work so far will be wasted.

I hope you are still ready to help after the official english version is out.

I know this, and yes, I will then help to translate into German when the Final is released.

Picture quality for DPG playback is much better, no more dithering.

#165971 - JLsoft - Wed Jan 14, 2009 8:38 pm

FYI, dithering was toggleable via an option in the .INI file in MoonShell 1.7x :P

#165988 - NorQue - Thu Jan 15, 2009 10:56 am

And it was default off, which was a good thing. For Sakura, on the other hand, dithering was on per default and I couldn't find out how to turn it off.

...and stopped.

#166288 - MechaBouncer - Wed Feb 04, 2009 12:02 am

Well I finally got around to using it...and I'm rather disappointed. Sure, it looks great! However, it seems that my MP3s now have skips during decoding and whenever I try to play a module/tracker type audio file (S3M, IT, XM, MOD, etc.) it always crashes. What's worse is that there seem to be no options to turn off the resume function, so it keeps crashing until I overwrite the whole "moonshl2" directory. It also looks like I'll have to re-encode my DPG files because they crash it as well. It feels like Moonshell Vista to me more than anything.

Then again, am I the only one having trouble like this? Nobody else seems to be mentioning any of these issues. I'm using a CycloDS Evolution if that helps at all. It autopatches DLDI and there's a brief error about the filesystem, but then it shows my files properly. I don't THINK it's a problem with that, but I'm not entirely sure.

honestly, testing moonshell2.0 is in my task pipe, but the 1.71 works already so well that I didn't even downloaded the 2.0...

#166300 - NorQue - Wed Feb 04, 2009 10:32 am

Mechabouncer, you're the only one I heard this from yet. From my own experience the most annoying thing about DPG playback are the new block artifacts and slightly "warbled" (looks like the picture morphs around) video. Sound playback actually improved a lot and so did color representation.

I toyed around a bit with the new DPGTools and it still encodes DPG the same way as previous versiosn (here's the mencoder commandline: C:\dpgtls\dpgencplugin\mencoder.exe -v - -o "C:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\nedivx-tnines-sample.dpgm1v" -noautosub -nosound -frames 1502 -demuxer rawvideo -rawvideo fps=24:w=256:h=128:format=bgr24:size=98304 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg1video:vbitrate=512:keyint=60:intra_matrix=[kvcd intra matrix, breaks forum layout] -ofps 24 -of rawvideo, audio is still encoded to MP2 with twolame), only difference is that the header now says its DPG4, but with no difference actual content I wouldn't expect any playback issues if your old Videos are encoded with BatchDPG or dpgconv.

I haven't tested MP3 playback or any of the formats you mentioned myself, though, but if there were any issues (especially with MP3) I'm sure you'd hear about it. No idea what causes your problems. :(

#166373 - ps2aich - Fri Feb 06, 2009 4:29 pm

One EZFlash V user reported a problem with the Moonshell 2.0 DLDI-patching when starting homebrew with the newest optimized EZ-V DLDI driver.

With an older version of the DLDI driver it works, tough.

Hadn't time yet to look into it ....

#167002 - Tsol - Thu Feb 26, 2009 12:06 am

So, i was wondering if anyone has been able to compile the sourcecode for moonshell 2 beta 5.

I've been trying, but it looks like you would need a code warriors program of some sort. Anyone know anything about that?

#167263 - Tyrian? - Sat Mar 07, 2009 12:11 pm

beta 6.1 is out...apparently moonlight isn't done yet with the program ;)

#167328 - elwing - Mon Mar 09, 2009 9:22 am

hum, just a quick question, does this version offer random play option? I didn't find it with the old version...

#168065 - Xtreme - Wed Apr 08, 2009 9:45 pm

MoonShell 2 beta 9 is out. Please report any bugs here.

Dear translators, English file is being updated because new version have new lines and my previous work need to be updated (the one that hadn't been published yet). The "cleaned" english version will be out later.
