What I'd like to see is a car which you can drive with the wifi and which has a camera which streams a picture onto a screen.. and its gotta be strong so you can drive it down the stairs and its gotta be able to survive :p

I think its a little bit of advertising for the nopass.
Maybe the same company is doing sponsorship of this DSRobot project.

All that really matters...

And if Natrium42 would ever build his DSerials, you'd be able to do the same thing as this.. So.. not exactly ground breaking.. And I hope the final package won't look like the video!

EDIT:

You'd be able to do that, as you can just us a standard wireless camera and a capture card on your computer so you don't need to stream through the DS.. Same stuff they use for model train sets, etc.

This is a very interesting project.

Even with the hardware needed to get homebrew software running on it, the DS is a low cost, durable, system to design a robot or any other computer controlled project around.

Lynx: I meant one where you could just take teh DS and car out on a sunny day and drive around, without having to bring a laptop

Somehow I fail to see how this little bit of advertising can compete with Charmed Labs and their Xport robot controller (yes, it works with DS). Perhaps it could be better priced, but all I see yet is that they would rather have an off-site flash file than a picture or details.

Dunno about this project, but if you were lucky, you bought a DSerial from Natrium42 and have the 18 contol lines and are already able to do whatever you want robotic wise anyway.. :)

Hello.

Sorry for the delay.

I'm the creator of DSRobot, and I have been workin for a year on it.

I'm currently searching for a PCB Assembler, because I cannot solder TQC144 manually.

I'm currently working in DSRobot v.2. With more advantajes than DSRobot and Natrium's DSSerial.

Of course, Natrium DSSerial is a good device.

How does it compare to Natrium42's Robo DS that is currently available?

Is there some news about it???

Thanks

#158496 - preussie - Thu Jun 12, 2008 10:23 am

It seems that both web pages are down ( http://www.dsrobot.com/ and Natrium42s Robo DS page ). Does any one know what happened to those projects?

#158511 - Lynx - Thu Jun 12, 2008 2:23 pm

Well, natrium42.com is still there.. but he is no longer selling the DSerial2 or the Robot Project parts. There should be enough information to build one.. if you can find a DSerial2 to use. :(

Thank you Lynx. I just found out that 'my' DNS blocks the natrium24.com domain. It works using a different DNS...
