Hardware > max3222 <-> max232

Hi,
what's the difference between max232 and max3222. The /EN and /SHDN are of the max3222 are not really used in the multiboot cable. So I wonder if I could use the max232 instead.

You need a 3.3V compatible transciever.

You can use a buffer to convert it to 3.3V, I made a MAX232 into a 3.3V RS232 device by using a 74lvth145 I believe. Do a search for 3.3V buffers and you will find one.
