Hardware > noob question with GBAMP

#113866 - melnic - Sun Dec 31, 2006 4:36 pm

I got a GBAMP version 2.0 off ebay.
Its working fine for movies but I've downloaded some .gba games from here and none seem to work. All produce a white screen.
Is there a FAQ somewhere on how this works for games?
thx

Which games did you try?

Are you using the GBAMP CF or the SD version? Also, please note that commercial GBA games will not work on the GBAMP. Only homebrew DS and GBA applications and games will.

And the homebrew games have to be mult-boot versions (mb.gba).. but, something tells me those aren't the games he's trying.

They don't have to be called .mb.gba to work. As long as they can be run in VisualBoy Advance when renamed to .mb, it will work when called .mb.gba or just .gba.

CF version

mario balls
oddworls
tank commander
space invaders2600
LodeRunner_v0[1].1
pong_adv
BASICbreakout

For all, I simply copied the file from the folder to the root of the CF card.
breakout.gba

Do I have to put them in a folder and rename them?

Well, they also have to be under ~256k in size.

Try TOD, Vitamins, Luminesweeper, or LOCKJAW.

Also try Herg's Solitaire or Herg's Yahtzee, as both are multiboot games.
