Hardware > Bootleg GBA on the market

#168852 - ASSEMbler - Sat May 30, 2009 3:20 am

I bought one of the new GBA clones on the market to
tear it down.

Any of you able to make heads or tails of the Hynix chip?

I'm guessing it's not possible to overclock through software.

Just replace the crystal inside the unit...

My guess is they "borrowed" the GBA portion of the DS firmware, which would explain no GB/GBC support.

They porbably just didn't include the original GB(C)'s Z80 based processor etc., much like Nintendo did with the GBA mirco. ;^)
