Hardware > Can I flash a Flash2Advance cart using the MBV2 cable?

#2487 - oggipa - Tue Feb 04, 2003 9:15 pm

Hello I am completely new to GBA development. While reading through all of the literature and FAQ's I found out that I could use the MBV2 cable to write a ROM image to a flash cart, now I know that I can write to a Flash Advance cart but would i be able to use the Flash2Advance cart. Thank you #:0)

In theory, it should be possible because the F2A cable and MBV2 cable are both PC-parallel-to-GBA-serial cables. However, unless the F2A's flash chip uses the same bus protocols as Visoly Flash Advance Turbo carts, it means that Jeff F needs to add support for F2A carts to mb.exe.

Thanks tepples for the reply. I've ordered the MBV2 cable from LikSang, just to get me started. Thanks again. #:0)
