Hardware > GBA adapter for Gamecube doesnt work with flashcards :(

#60825 - equlizer - Tue Nov 15, 2005 4:46 am

Well i splurged on a gamecube last week thinking i could play all my different flascards in it and none of them work. (supercard sd, ezflash2 512mbit, ezflash3 2gbit, flash2advance 64mbit)

Does anyone know how to get these to work? is it even possible?

BTW: its the newer one that plugs into the memory port

The Datel Advance Game Port is a software emulator, which can not write to the cartridge registers. You will need a real Nintendo Game Boy Player, which is an actual GBA. It plugs into the bottom of the system.

I've had only a few problems in getting my Flash Advance 256 (essentially the same product as Flash2Advance Classic 256) or my GBAMP to work on the Game Boy Player. All have been fixed by cleaning the cart contacts with rubbing alcohol.

My review of the Game Boy Player from June 2003

It works with mine, although I don't remember which flash cart mine is (All the names are so darn similar!)

If you have a NOR card (that is, one that doesn't take CF or SD cards), you might be able to get Datel's Advance Game Port adapter to work if you write one program to the card in single-ROM mode. However, emulation accuracy might not be the best.
