Hardware > 64M and 256M flash card

I heard the 64M flash card (flash advance linker) doesn't run as fast as a real GBA cartridge but the new 256M (turbo flash) does. Is it true? Has anybody experienced trouble using it? Is the new Flash Advance Linker eXtreme bundled with this turbo card?
