Coding > Boycott's mistake(?)

Is that true that Boycott Advance allows writing (changing value of) data stored in 0x08000000 and further?
I've been testing it on my (first wrongly written) program and was surprised that Boycott emulates it and VBoyAdv doesn't. That is also valid with GBA sound channels 1-4.
what are your experience with Boycott?
