When trying to view the DS forums whilst not logged in I get taken to the login form. In the past the DS forums were publicly viewable, i.e. you did not have to have a gbadev account. The other forums are still publicly viewable.
Is this a change in policy?

yeh, I just realized, you should change it back. Honestly, this forum should be open, theres nothing special to hide.

In addition, one can't even register for an account using the available DS web browsers because of the d*** CAPTCHA.

Agreed, this forum serves as reference for many DS programmers, and most won't create an account simply to use the "search" button or skim threads. This is a loss for both parts.

Can some admin please post a reason for requiring logins to the DS forums? And why it applies to the DS forums, but not the GBA forums? I can't see any good reason for it, so hopefully it was either a mistake, or they have a very good reason.

You try registering using retawq. You will fail because of the CAPTCHA.

Some visitors may have noticed some problems during 2 hours when we were tinkering with some files, doing some forum updates etc.
