I have deleted a couple of duplicate threads relating to a recent competition. My main reason for deleting the posts was not the duplication but rather the fact that the competition in question was actually an advert for a retailer.
In keeping with Simon's rules found at http://forum.gbadev.org/viewtopic.php?t=9484 and specifically "
No promotion of any retailer outside the Retailer Feedback forum. NO affiliate links are allowed. " I have removed these adverts.
Almost all competitions are a form of promotion used to take advantage of the fact that interested parties will post links everywhere they can. Some competitions, such as the ever popular Drunken Coders competitions, have their roots in the homebrew scene and are managed by people who contribute on a regular basis and provide much more than clones of other people's hardware designs.
This forum is not a free advertising venue for dubious retailers please consider that when posting.
