Announcements And Comments > Conversion of Alien Breed

#150130 - alien8r33d - Wed Jan 30, 2008 9:58 am

For anyone who may still be interested, I am currently converting the old Amiga favourite Alien Breed for the GBA. It is being written in 100% assembler as are all my efforts.

It is about 80% complete. I have not released any WIPs since this site no longer seems to be updated. Last year I sent in a GBA electronics CAD program I wrote and it was never posted....

This sounds really great. As I didn't have an Amiga (I was on the Atari ST side), I discovered this game only a few years ago.

Is this the original alien breed, or the amazing alien breed 3d?

It is the '92 special edition version. Top down 2D. I may add maps from other versions and maybe do a few of my own.....

Do you plan link cable support for 2 (or more) players?

EDIT : oops, just forgot it will be a GBA game not a DS one...

Alien Breed and Chaos Engine were great fun, especially two players. It's looking nice so far. I'm looking forward to it. It's rare to see a large ASM hobby project finished, so good luck.

I will release a WIP asap. This may not be for a little while for 3 reasons, 1) Work 2) my XGFlash cart has failed and I can't afford a new one til payday and 3) I got an XBOX360 for Christmas. (with Call of Duty 2, 3 and the excellent 4th episode.
