Announcements And Comments > New forum: Game design?

#1059 - tepples - Tue Jan 14, 2003 6:59 am

In addition to the "graphics" and "audio" forums, I'd like to see one about overall game design, especially for homebrewers who act as their own producers. I'm not all that sure where to post such questions, or whether a new forum is needed.

I agree, I program and produce my own games, and several times I need help on certain aspects. I believe that a new forum would help many a person....

Heh :) that;d be cool, hopefully I'll be good enough to contribute :). When I play a game I always try to spot the 'gameplay cracks'. Let's see if that payed off :).

Talk about gameplay cracks... I found two dozen in Mario Kart 64.

I meant something else though it is a better name for that :).

I mean other stuff, just bad game design. Where for example a game has a lot of potential but because the creators made it too easy and stuff they don't tap into that potential. Or just other crappy little stuff that are irritating in the control.

I think this is a great idea, considering how little could be found about 2D/tile-based game design.
