is it - newsⓐgbadev?org?
mod edit: we don't want spambots to pick up the address from this post either so I disguised it a bit -- tepples

Uhm... it's clearly available from the main site under contact... you didn't even try did you?

are you trying to make me angry? I did try, and for
some reason an email adress such as: news[sat]gbadev.org is not
very understandable.

Uhm, doh. It's a standard spam avoidance trick! :P

It stops 'spam bots' from collecting email addresses from websites.. typical examples are:
qwerty@NOSPAMyahoo.co.uk (remove NOSPAM)
qwertyATyahoo.co.uk
qwerty at yahoo dot co dot uk
etc
And I am sure that Krakken meant it as a tongue in cheek (i hope)....

Some people did not know that, like me. :)
The original post will need to be changed, so that spam bots don't get ahold of it somehow.

Unicode is your friend. Make a spambot-proof ⓐ with ⓐ

Hmm, a bit of-topic but does spam-bots read the source or the rendered webpage? I suppose they read the source to find "click HERE to email me" with a href="mailto:mymail@myserver.com".
Tepples, that unicode doesn't seem to solve anything that cannot be solved by using an image for the @ character, atleast not for me. I couldn't paste your unicode char into my mail-app, it converted the char to an "?".
Edit: Ah, now I see that it isn't even supposed to be an @ character, it's an "a" in a circle. Silly me. :)

I would assume that anything that reads html would be able to see inside the <a href="">
That is, unless the person writing the spambot chose to make it unreadable.

Any security can be twarted. It would probably be easy to scan for strings that contain the ⓐ or @ tokens. I doubt ⓐ is in widespread use, so it's probably safe.

If you want to submit plain text news and/or demos, please PM me and Ill give you the URL to a register form so you can get access to the updating script I made for visitors of the site. I seem to remember almost finishing it but it would be good if a few people could submit their stuff from it so I know if its ready to go live or not.
Thanks
Simon
