My first publicly released GBAMP-aware program is a GBA program that reads sequential sectors from a file, one sector at a time, and times how long it takes. Run this benchmark program and see how long it takes to read one sector on your CF card. (I got 18. Can you get lower?)

Depending on the results I get from other people, I'll add more tests.

Nice test, I think I will use this for benchmarking my code.

Oh, I get 5 lines (367 μs) on my 512MB PQI card.

UPDATE: Now it's more thorough, including both sequential and random access as well as 512 byte, 4 KiB, and 16 KiB chunks.

Ok, reformatting the CF card in windows, and only putting the few files needed to flash it, then following the above instructions, seemed to fix it.
Here are my results for the CF benchmark:

Seq 512B: 29
Seq 4KB: 67
Seq 16KB: 199

Random 512B: fluctuates between 70 and 120
Random 4KB: fluctuates between 110 and 170
Random 16KB: fluctuates between 40-70, spiking to 220

Huuuge necro, but justified:

The tester has been updated to use libfat. I might port it to the DS so that you can test SLOT-1 cards with it.
