Hey wintermute. I went to devkitProUpdater(1.2.5) to try to download v18. I select "remove downloaded files" click next, check to download devkitArm and click next, then I get

Create folder: c:\devkitPro\libgba
untgz::extract -d 'c:\devkitPro\libgba' -zbz2 'C:\devkitPro\libgba-20060410.tar.bz2'
gzread: incomplete block read
Error: Failure reading from tarball.
failed to extract libgba-20060410.tar.bz2: Error: Failure reading from tarball.

What should I do?

What kind of Internet connection do you use?

Delete c:\devkitPro\libgba-20060410.tar.bz2 if it still exists

Download 1.2.7 manually.

http://www.devkitpro.org/index.php?action=fullnews&id=98

Run 1.2.7, hopefully it will behave normally.

Further updates to the installer should be automatic. This feature was unfortunately broken in 1.2.5

I have a cable connection. I d/l 1.2.7 and deleted the tar file. Still pops up though.

Can you send me the archive that was downloaded. I have a suspicion what the problem might be but I need to see the file you downloaded to confirm it.

Are you talking about the msys-1.0.10? How would you like me to send it to you?

#79486 - wintermute - Fri Apr 14, 2006 12:18 am

No, this file. Was there some problem with msys you didn't mention?

Oh ok. No problem. I was just being dumb.

#79697 - wintermute - Sat Apr 15, 2006 10:19 am

Thanks for that. The file confirmed my suspicion that the mirror you're using didn't have the file in question. The updater downloaded an html error page instead of an archive so I need to do something about checking for that case.

Could you look in your installed.ini ( found in the installed devkitPro folder) file and tell me what the url is at the top.

It should look something like this.

Code:

[mirror]
url=http://osdn.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge

I think I might have to write some code to obtain a list of mirrors from sourceforge and arrange for a fallback.

Oh yes did you correct the inccorect line in gba_sound.h? There may be more like this I haven't checked.

I think I've got all of those now, feel free to report more if you see them - ideally through the SF bug tracker.

Sorry it took so long wintermute, I actually didn't get a chance to get on last night. It is from http://internap.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge

wintermute,

Thanks for the update. I've been putting off updating my environment for several versions now, and it was great that when I finally upgraded to release 18, the transition was pretty painless.

Also, I'm having better results with dualis compatability. That makes my life a lot better because I don't have to keep plugging and unpluging CF cards and the GBAMP every time I want to make and test one little change in my code.

cheers
