I have built a MIDI out interface for the GBA. The hardware is minimal and the software uses timer interrupts to generate MIDI packets and is open source. I have tested this interface with my synthesizers and runs ok :-)

Nice one! That's pretty profound. :)

Would it be possible to use a system similar to this built into a GBA Option Pak, allowing for the construction of a MIDI Controller module for the DS?
